Jesus's Authority Over Evil

We come now to one of the most notoriously difficult passages in all of Scripture. This text has caused a great deal of speculation and confusion. Once understood though it is a source of immense comfort to believers enduring persecution. Peter takes us back to Genesis 6 and 7 in the days of Noah to provide an example to believers enduring persecution. Just as a few were saved in the days of Noah while being slandered and ridiculed, so now God’s chosen few are saved through the waters of baptism while experiencing the same treatment.
