God's Purpose for the Church

These verses contain some of the most insightful and encouraging depictions of the identity and purpose of God’s people found anywhere in the Bible. We see a clear difference between those who believe in Jesus and those who reject his claims. We who obey him have a calling and responsibility to live in a way that displays the light of God’s goodness to those walking in the darkness of disobedience. This responsibility has both individual and collective components within the church and this sermon addresses both aspects.
